Happy New Year! We love sharing with our readers great tips on how to improve their lives through healthy, wholesome foods, recipes and tips. Today we are going to feature some of our favorite tips when it comes to substitutes in the kitchen.
What are some of your favorite kitchen tips?
- Substitute applesauce for vegetable oil in equal parts (it contains less fat!)
- There is nothing else that works like oil in cooking. Coconut oil is one of the healthiest, and you can get two types: one that has coconut flavor and one that is nearly tasteless. Go for the cold pressed extra virgin coconut oil.
- Substitute your all-purpose flour for Sprouted Wheat Flour. Sprouted flour digests as a vegetable; not a starch. This helps the body absorb all the great nutrients found in sprouted flours.
- Substitute up to 25% of the flour with wheat germ in your recipes for pancakes, muffins, cookies or even cakes. It adds a rich nutty flavor!
